HTTP Status Code IN SEO

When you are learning the SEO from the technical point of view then you need more attention. Here you will get the mainly used HTTP Status code. Have a look one by one.

For blogging on Blogger, you need to aware of custom redirects. When you develop your blog then you need this feature on blogger. But use it in the correct way. Suppose you have # links then you also need it to redirect on the new location when they are modified.

HTTP Status code has a relation with client-side code and server-side code. Each code has a unique identification and a unique purpose of work.

100 - Continue the server until the client has not completed the task. Example: Have you did any of task like a sign-up. You get this code while you are filling the information and following the steps.

101 - Suppose the client wants to upload the file then the protocol will change from the current state. So switching protocol handle by 101. The server acknowledges this. We can say it application protocol layer change.

Example: Get and Post method handle by 101 Because it is based on FTP(According to an above statement under 101) and SSL

102 - Example: Have you noticed on the bank websites. When you stay idle then your login session goes expire. This means your server connection is terminated. But if we want in some cases not happen like this. We can use the processing signal with this code. So that you remain on the server and request will go to the processing state.

200 - Show you green signal that page is OK and can be index in search and viewable in the browser.

201 - When you create a new resource like a new post. It is done by POST or PUT. A created resource is kept by the server.

202 - Example: When you do the payment on the internet using the debit card. Your card is accepted means process has 202 code. but your request is not completed because you still need to verify the OTP with the bank.

203 - Example: Information gathered from another source from the actual source. Any website search feature that gives you results from another website. It does not contain the links on the website. I am talking about backlinks and external links on your own website. Be clear with both.

204 - Example: Any search feature on the website that returns the page but with no content. Suppose your query is not matched and therefore has no content.

205 - Have you changed your profile information on any website. This is the code that resets the information.

206 - Wikipedia result
The server is delivering only part of the resource (byte serving) due to a range header sent by the client. The range header is used by HTTP clients to enable resuming of interrupted downloads, or split a download into multiple simultaneous streams.[16]
207 - Example: CSS on the website under the specific code divide the execution in multi-tasks. Similarly, if the current status code has further status codes then handle by 207 code.

208 - Have you done any online shopping on Amazon. Once you select the product it will automatically add to the Shopping card. Any request that already reported maintained with this code.

226 - IM Used: Meaning is you have done the GET task and then the next step is a representation. It is just like your WhatsApp messages. You write the message and the system gets it with getting method and 226  handle its presentation.

301 – Moved Permanently
302 – Found, It is a temporary redirect
303 – See other
307 – Temporary redirect but works on http1.1
308 – Permanent redirect but according to another RFC(Request for comments)

Note: 301 and 302 allow change of request method from POST to GET (i.e. “your submission is received but you should get a response elsewhere”); 307 and 308 forbid such behavior.

Site security

HTTPS Protocol

Role of HTTPS protocol as a security certificate. It encrypts communication between your computer and a site that means no one can see the data that's transmitted.

Client-side error

In the image, you can see the question that is asking HTTP status code starting with 4 means all range of HTTP status code with the beginning of this digit(4) for what eligible. As you can see three options in question. The client-side error is the right answer for it. For the server-side error, and redirects we have range start with 5 and 3 digits respectively.

404 – Not found, try to create custom 404 pages to instruct users on what to do.
410 – URL is gone and never be come back.

410 HTTP status code better from 404 HTTP Status code. When you want to remove the page from the search index as quickly as possible and you sure it won't be ever back then you can use it.

Never confuse with noindex that is used to not show a web page in SERP. Spider read it and quit from indexing. But 410 has a different way.

500 – This is an internal server error. There is nothing visible to spiders and browsers.
503 – Service unavailable. Used for under maintenance site.

Note for 503: Site that is serving HTTP status 200 response code while under maintenance, that means for Google everything is supposed to be alright. What will happen when you serve a very limited amount of totally different content then? They will actually rank you with your under maintenance message.

Important Note:  Do not redirect the request to a temporary URL, Domain, and hosting for a “ currently under maintenance”  site.

504 – The 504 Gateway Timeout error is an HTTP status code that means that one server did not receive a timely response from another server that it was accessing while attempting to load the web page.

Moreover, see uncovered status code on under HTTP Messages.
