Content Audit: How To Do?

A content audit is an analysis of the post when we monitor it. In other words, this is the stepwise checklist monitoring of SEO content description. The factor that makes the quality of content is the key element of the structure of any content.

Various Steps for the checklist

Check Keyword research

In this step, we have to check that our research about keywords is complete or not. Not including the keywords, that are required by your post, will affect the quantity and quality. So cover all possible keyword to the article.

Keyword matching

Next step, you have to make sure your keywords are not off-topic which has no relation to the content. Any unrelated information to the article shows a poor impression on the audience.

Keyword trust

By writing the accurate data or information the post, you can build the trust within your readers. This can be achieved only by satisfying the audience with their search query.

If your users do not trust your content then Google will also ignore you.

Keyword explanation

The way you can build trust is by explaining each and every keyword that you used in the article. So they can understand much better what you are trying to convey. A proper explanation of the question researched by the user has a good impact on the website to get rank well through increasing average time on site.

Keyword density

What else you need to care for that is most important. You can not use the same keyword multiple times. Because it is a violation of Google guidelines. You are advised to use the synonym for any repeated word in the post.

Talking about this post, if I use the title keyword multiple times of this article then this is the bad signal for search engine. So every keyword should not be used more than two times.

Content quantity and quality

Quantity means the length of your post. It depends on the keyword and varies accordingly. If you are following all the above-described steps then you are automatically making good content.

It advised that you cover your topic with the 2000 words but you can feel ok if you explained well within 1000 to 1500 words.

There are some posts on the web that has more than 500 words but has well-described links within the site. These links contribute positively to the article.

My content optimization post can help you with this.

Analyzing content in Google search console

You also analyze the content with the help of the webmaster tool. Go to the Performance section and see the queries for your website. See you are using these in your article or not. Because Google looks at this on your site.

If you are adding this value to content then this instructs to Google's algorithm that your content is relevant to the query. Be sure to check the web page against the query.

You can also view that your added query in the post has a sufficient amount of impressions. See the week query with low performance then do some value-added changes in the content.

This will help you a lot.

Internal linking is explained by me already on another post that you can read. This is much important factor to instruct the crawler to understand your website content and its structure.

Tools for content analysis

You can use the SEMrush writing assistant to watch your content. For word count, you use MS Word. Moreover, Google analytic tell to you that which of the web page is papular and where from it is getting traffic so you can implement some changes to make more effective.

BuzzSumo and Ahrefs are good to use.
